Our Mission
We are committed to developing and maintaining a competitive Slovak semiconductor ecosystem.
Building a Competitive Slovak Semiconductor Ecosystem
SK Chips is committed to developing and maintaining a competitive Slovak semiconductor ecosystem. SK Chips aims to ensure the supply and concentration of competencies and know-how in the field of semiconductors, particularly in power semiconductors and back-end production. It offers comprehensive support services to SME and RTO operating in the semiconductor and microelectronic industry, with a focus on key sectors of the national economy such as the automotive sector.
Empowering Slovakia’s Semiconductor Ecosystem Through Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Industry Collaboration
SK Chips supports the development of the semiconductor ecosystem through investments in technologies and the operation of cleanrooms, providing access to these facilities for entities in Slovakia, EDA (electronic design automation) tools, available IP blocks, and accessible cleanrooms, especially for the SME sector.
SK Chips ensures support for technology transfer and the protection of intellectual property, and is interconnected with complementary organizations within the EU and beyond, with a focus on technology transfer to industry and large enterprises in Slovakia.
SK Chips aims to support the incubation of start-ups and spin-off companies in the sector, support new and existing SMEs, and strengthen and enhance relationships between industry, SMEs, and academia.
Thanks to SK Chips, new and existing SME will be actively supported to participate in the European semiconductor space and achieve a measurable economic benefit, which is guaranteed at the EU level by the very scale of the global and European market. The center’s role is to actively support research, development, innovation, technology transfer, education, and networking in the field of semiconductors in Slovakia by connecting academic and research actors with industry and SMEs. The center will be built in accordance with Pillar 1 of the EU Chips Act – the European Chips Initiative.
